Whooping cough cases increase

Repeat Prescriptions

red_orange_pills Your doctor may agree with you that you can collect certain regular prescriptions without seeing them on every occasion. You can request a ‘repeat prescription’ using any of the following methods:

telephone the practice phone number (08444 771 772), available 24 hours, select Option 2 from the list offered and leave your request by following the message instructions. Your prescription will be ready after 5.00 pm the next working day.
if you have signed up to SystmOnline, order your prescription online using the link below. You can order your prescriptions 24 hours including weekends using this service. Again, your prescription will then be ready to collect after 5.00pm the next working day
write to the practice enclosing a stamped self-addressed envelope
call at the surgery and leave a message, or your repeat prescription list with the needed medication clearly marked on your repeat list
between 10.00 am and 5.00 pm Monday to Friday (but not before 10:00 am please as this is a very busy time for patients wanting to book appointments), you may telephone us to speak to a member of staff on the surgery number

Please note that requests for anything other than previously agreed repeat prescriptions will not be accepted. When you receive a message telling you that your medication review is due, it is very important that you book an appointment for the review in plenty of time.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.

These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.

12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £104.00
3-month PPC: £29.10

If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
